You didn’t miss it! I forgot to add that step but it’s now listed in the Google doc, and you’ll see it on substack now if you use the app or pull it up in a browser (rather than email). Thanks for looking out!
Bonjour Bronwen from the heart of French prune plum growing region- Agen in SW France. While the French are not big cake makers (other pastries rule) my orchard farm neighbors make amazing bonbons with prunes stuffed with chocolate, dipped in chocolates- with walnuts or hazelnuts, pralinéed, and many other great chocolate/ prune combos. Prune jam or puree, prunes in wine, brandy or Armagnac all go to prove that what you created could also be called a Gateaux Agenais—with a French twist. Brava! It’s on my list to add to my prune dessert repertoire.
Hi Bronwen! In the photo you posted on IG of the single layer cake, was that a half or full batch of frosting on top? I’m trying to figure out how much of the buttercream I should make to achieve a similar ratio of cake to buttercream!
Prunes do not get enough airtime 🖤 can’t wait to try this
Oh I can't wait to see what you do with it!
Question! Sorry if I missed it, but what are we supposed to do with the 4 oz of chopped chocolate?
