Lord Peter is the best escape! A few other suggestions: Ngaio Marsh (Inspector Alleyn); Margery Allingham (Albert Campion—a kind of cut-rate Lord Peter); Trent's Last Case (by E. C. Bentley)

very amused by your sponsorship resulting in suddenly .... prunes ??? in these new recipes. i love galette des rois but does it need .... prunes ???? i guess i should try it before i knock it 👀💜

I've been sponsored by prunes for years actually! I've always loved them so it's a match made in heaven xx

beautiful! i’m sending everyone love during these heart breaking and challenging times.

we’re gonna have to lock arms and hold each other up.

hard pivot - do we put a baby in the galette? 👀

Bronwen Wyatt's avatar

Typically not a baby! The French use a small porcelain figurine that could be nearly anything- google French feves on eBay for a real treat!

Try the Maisie Dobbs novels - they’re a little later in time, WWI to the 1930s - but they’re good. Author Jacqueline Winspear.

Great looking recipe.

I'm sorry for the fear you're feeling, which many of my friends suffer, as directly as you. I feel anger. No one's love should be legislated and controlled and denied. I am contacting our reps despite Senator Mushmouth's declaration to not bother, talk to someone who cares.

Senate mush mouth has me rolling despite it all- thank you, I will be calling him this now too!
